Sandies host Shelbyville for homecoming game

This week's matchup in Sandie Stadium between Grapeland and Shelbyville pits two squads hungry for their first district wins.

Not only is this a big district game, it's homecoming night for Grapeland. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

The Sandies are coming off a 48-8 loss to Joaquin while the Dragons fell to Garrison 64-34.

Shelbyville lost its district opener to Joaquin 67-20 and had a bye the following week.

The Dragons went 3-1 in pre-district, beating Alto 48-44 and losing to Hemphill 61-12 before posting back-to-back wins over Elysian Fields 43-21 and KIPP Generations Collegiate (Houston) 67-20.

Bye week for Dogs

Crockett Bulldogs take a breather this week before tackling the meat of their district schedule.

With three games remaining, the Bulldogs return to action Oct. 21 at home against Woodville, travel to Westwood on Oct. 28 and wrap up district at home with Diboll on Nov. 4.
