LATEXO -- The Latexo Lady Tigers didn't show any signs of rust when they resumed district softball play after a 10-day hiatus.
The Lady Tigers recorded their third straight district shutout against Leon, 6-0, Friday night at home.
Latexo, which has given up just one run in district, improved its record to 4-0 while Leon slipped to 2-2.
Leading 2-0, the Lady Tigers put the game away with a four-run flurry in the bottom of the sixth.
Latexo got on the scoreboard in the first after a leadoff single by Charlee Biano, who stole second and third. Biano scored on a passed ball.
Natalie Nicol hit a two-out triple to right field in the bottom of the third but was left stranded.
In the fourth, Katy Allen singled and advanced to third in an error by the first baseman. Allen tagged up to score on Cammy Parrish's flyout. Taylor Dise hit a fly ball double and advanced to third on the throw but was left stranded.
Dise sparked a two-out rally in the sixth with a line-drive single and went to second on Lauren Woodard's base hit. After a passed ball allowed runners to advance to third and second, Malley Moore smashed a fly ball double to centerfield that drove in Dise and Woodward.
Biano kept it going with a RBI double to bring home Moore, advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on yet another errant pitch.
Two of Leon's base runners were caught stealing second. Allen, made a pick-off throw from third base in the fourth and catcher Baylee Omelina gunned down a runner in the sixth.
Woodard worked five innings in the circle to earn the victory. She gave up no runs on three hits with eight strikeouts and no walks. Allen, throwing two scoreless no-hit innings in relief, struck out three and walked one.
