CROCKETT – After a couple of months of meetings over intense topics such as the 2023 budget and tax rates, the Houston County Hospital Board meeting, held on Tuesday, Oct. 18, was back to the ordinary operations of the organization.
The only actionable item on the agenda was to consider and take possible action on a resolution approving an amendment to the load with Prosperity Bank, but because members didn’t approve of the amendment’s wording, the item was tabled.
During the hospital report, the Crockett Medical Center submitted its statistics for the past quarter. Emergency room visits hovered from 820 in July, to 826 in August, to 791 in September. Inpatient admissions also saw little change in the number of admissions for the quarter. There were seventeen admissions in July, seventeen in August, and fifteen in September.
Although it was previously mentioned that the hospital’s lessee was interested in renegotiating his contract, which is up for renewal early next year, the Negotiations Committee reported no new information regarding the matter.
