GOOD. Water clear; 82 degrees; 1.34 feet below. Fishing patterns will be similar for another few weeks until the weather cools off some more. Catfish are good on baited holes 15-20 feet of water using cheese bait. Crappie are fair on brush in 12-20 feet of water biting on minnow and jigs. Bass are good early topwater baits shallow. White bass good on midlake humps with slabs or minnows. Report by Marty Thomas, Lake O the Pines Crappie Fishing.
Caddo
SLOW. Water stained; 79 degrees; 0.67 feet above. Caddo is fishing steady and continues to look good after the recent rains last month. Bass are schooling in the river and bayou systems biting on flukes, dropshots and Texas rig worms. Still some topwater action to be found with Pop-R type baits and frogs at daylight and sunset. The majestic views on the lake that God spoke into existence are bonus to enjoy while on the lake. Report provided by Vince Richards, Caddo Lake Fishing & Fellowship.
Conroe
GOOD. Slightly stained; 84 degrees; 1.74 feet below. Catfish are good on structure from 12-25 feet of water and under the 1097 bridge using catfish bubblegum, shrimp and liver. Large blue catfish have been on structure and ledges during the day and cruising flats at night. The fish are ready to transition to the fall patterns, but the triple digit weather could delay this. Report by Brad Doyle, Bradley’s Guide Service. Crappie are slow on minnows or jigs covering a lot of water. Most of the bites have been very light on structure in 13-21 feet of water. Match your bait to the size of the shad. Having to hit multi spots to get just a few on each spot. Black bass are good in 8-19 feet of water close to or in structure using creature baits, crankbaits, and swimbaits. Always wear your life jacket! Report by Mike Cason, Fishical Therapy Lake Conroe Fishing Guide.
Fork
GOOD. Water Stained; 78 degrees; 6.06 feet low. Water has warmed back up with the weather. This has slowed the topwater bass bite. Bass are fair early mornings with spinner baits and flukes in 2-4 feet of water on windy points, or 5-7 feet of water if there is now wind. Carolina rigs and shaky heads best around timber on the drops on points and ridges with flukes and 7 inch worms. Shaky heads are good with 4-inch june bug finesse worms, with a few catches using square bill crankbaits. Afternoon has been fishing fair with mid running crankbaits in 7-12 feet of water. Report by Lake Fork fishing guide Marc Mitchell, Lake Fork Pro. Lake Fork crappie fishing has been heating up this past week. We are seeing solid limits of bigger white crappie stacking up on trees in 18-26 feet of water. Getting some brush pile fish to bite as well on some days in 12-18 feet of water. Laydowns are loaded with black crappie most days, but slow to bite. Minnows continue to be the most productive baits, but hand tie jigs are catching some fish. Soft plastics should begin to produce as the water temperature drops for the fall months. Report provided by Jacky Wiggins, Jacky Wiggins Guide Service.
Houston County
GOOD. Water stained; 85 degrees; 1.87 feet below. Fishing patterns are holding steady as we wait for the cooler fall weather. Nacogdoches
GOOD. Water lightly stained; 83-87 degrees; 3.15 feet low. Largemouth bass are good on topwater lures in the morning along grass edges on the north end. Quality fish are suspended in the water column along the creek and relating to timber. Crappie are fair on timber and brush piles. Days are getting shorter and the fall bite is right around the corner. Start to use caution when running north of the highline as lake levels continue to drop and more standing timber is soon to be exposed. Report by Blake Oestreich, Brushbuster Guide Service.
Naconiche
GOOD. Water clear to stained; 80 degrees; 1.00 feet low. As the water temperatures drop, this should indicate the beginning stage of the fall transition. As long as there is not another heat wave, the lake will start to turnover in a few weeks. The thermocline has dropped to about 16 feet. A jerkbait plus-1 and shad style lures are working. A slow hopped underspin is getting bit in 8-12 feet of water. The crappie population is good. Catfish are slow. Report by Eric Wolfe, NacoTack Fishing Services.
Raven

White bass are schooling on flats biting small crankbaits and silver spoons. Crappie are good on brush piles with minnows and jigs. Crappie are slowly migrating to the rivers pockets. Catfish are good off points with and in the creek channel. Report by Lynn Atkinson, Reel Um N Guide Service.
Toledo Bend
FAIR. Water stained; 75-77-78 degrees; 4.16 feet low. The water level is 167.8 with no generators running. Water temperature at the Dam is 75-77 degrees with surface temperature around 77. This is the second week with no rainfall. The back feeder creeks are still clearing, and the mid and main lake is clear. The best bite is at first light to mid-morning. Black bass are still in the summer to fall transition and remain scattered and hard to pattern. Bass have been biting and chasing smaller shad profile baits like 1/4 ounce rattletraps in chrome, black or blue back, bladed baits, and smaller crankbaits in shad colors. Jerk baits, flukes, and buzz baits are producing. The worm bite has been slow, so go junk fishing throwing whatever is in the tackle box. Fly fishing has also been tough in the shallows and flats. Crappie are improving in 6-25 feet of water using small jigs and minnows depending on the cloud cover and cooling night temperatures. Bluegills are still mixed in with crappie in the brush piles and some are now being caught under boathouses and docks. Catfish are still holding in 20-25 feet of water off the breaks in the main river channel. Hey crew, don't let this report discourage you from going fishing. Get out there! Good luck and tight lines! Report from Master Captain Steve (Scooby) Stubbe, Mudfish Adventures LLC, Mudfish Rod Shop, Kayak Sales, Fishing Guide Service & Rod Repair.
