A bench honoring local first responders was unveiled and dedicated during a ceremony at Anniversary Park Saturday hosted by the Robert Rankin Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). The chapter had previously placed a bench honoring local veterans in the park.

Representatives from the fire department, police department, sheriff’s department, DPS and EMS unveiled the bench.

The Livingston High School JROTC and the Livingston Police Department Color Guard posted the colors. Pam Sprott and Kim Sharp provided patriotic music. DAR Regent Phyllis Harrell, Livingston Mayor Judy Cochran and County Judge Sydney Murphy provided remarks. Nancy Hawkins led the pledge of allegiance to the U.S. flag and the Texas flag. Ann Hill offered scripture and prayer.

A number of people attended the ceremony to show support for all the local first responders.
