From Staff Reports
WOODVILLE – Jeff Jurgonski is on deck to play the monthly Pickin’ at the Pickett House series, Friday, Sept. 27, beginning at 5 p.m.
A native of sunny Florida and U.S. Navy vet, Jurgonski is now based in Lufkin, and travels and plays throughout the region as a solo acoustic act.
His repertoire blends tasteful covers of artists ranging from Hank Williams and Townes Van Zandt to R.E.M., to tuneful original songs and covers of songs from friends and collaborators. He can be heard and seen regularly at such venues as Fredonia Brewery, Jim Ann’s Club and Commerce Street Draft House.
Jurgonski’s stoic stage presence belies his beautiful tenor voice and guitar skills, and aside from his solo performances as a singer/songwriter act, he has played with many notable musicians as a drummer or guitarist.
He also plays bass and sings in the reggae project the Budz and plays drums in singer/songwriter Chris Edwards’ full band.
