Governor appoints local doctor to state medical board

Dr. George DeLoach of Livingston was reappointed to the Texas Medical Board, which regulates the practice of medicine in Texas, by Governor Greg Abbott recently for a term set to expire on April 13, 2029.

De Loach is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon serving Polk, San Jacinto, Angelina, Tyler and Liberty counties. He is a partner of Dedicated Orthopedic Center of East Texas, Chief of Surgery at CHI St. Luke’s Livingston, and an assistant professor at Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

DeLoach serves as president of the Polk-San Jacinto County Medical Society, is a fellow of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics and American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and is a member of the Texas Osteopathic Medical Association, Texas Orthopedics Association, and the American Osteopathic Association.

He received a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Other appointees to the state medical board include Luisa del Rosal of Dallas, Garry Crain of San Marcos, Zach Jones, M.D. of Frisco, Linda Troncoso of El Paso, Sharon J. Barnes of Rosharon, Manuel Quinones Jr., M.D. of Helotes and David Vanderweide, M.D. of League City.
