CENTERVILLE — At the Centerville tournament last week, the Lady Bulldogs pulled off a first place win by running through the brackets. 

Centerville eighth-grader Avery Brown earned tournament MVP honors after scoring 26, 35 and 32 points in the three games, the highest scorer in the entire tournament. Eighth-graders Olivia Teeters and Aiden Conner earned first-team all-tournament player awards for their outstanding play throughout the tournament. 

Girls team results: Centerville-1st place, Leggett 2nd place, Wells 3rd place and Kennard 4th place.

Boys team results Wells 1st place, Leggett 2nd place, Kennard 3rd place and Centerville 4th place

On Tuesday, Centerville traveled to Slocum, where the boys lost two games, and the girls won one.

The boys A team lost 62-16. Tanner Kellum scored 6 points, Daniel Brister 6 points and Drew Larsen 4. The boys B team lost 32-5. John Corley scored 3 points and Cash Noack scored 2.

The girls’ team won 28-14. Avery Brown scored 14 points, Laura Rogers 9 points, Rebecca Brasuell 2 points and Olivia Teeters 2 points.
