In an effort to better get to know its volunteers and supporters, the Onalaska Library Auxiliary will host a Cookie Exchange on Sept. 17 in which they hope will become an annual event. To participate, please RSVP to [email protected].

Each participant will bring two dozen cookies, or other small treats such as brownies, and a container to be used to bring cookies home.

“This is how our cookie exchange will work,” Library Director Sherry Brecheen said.

Bake cookies

“Each guest makes a cookie of their choice. It’s up to you. Store-bought is okay too. Any treat is good.”

Share cookies

“Bring one dozen of those treats to the party for tasting and one dozen for guests to share. Just come and bring a friend.”

Share cookie recipes

“Each guest will also need to bring recipe cards with their cookie recipe on them for each guest. Fun, right? If you send the recipe to me ahead of time, I’ll be happy to print them for you at the library. Please use my email address: [email protected] to send these. If you can get them to me by Friday, Sept. 13, that would be best.”

Enjoy the party

“Get to know the other volunteers and supporters of the library. Hear about what’s new.”

Take cookies home

“Since guests are all going to be bringing cookies to share, you’ll want to make sure you bring some extra containers so you can take home all the cookies you’ll be receiving.”
