• Trinity is so fortunate to have so many wonderful organizations and churches to present events for our families, friends, and relatives.
Some are reported on Facebook before I get to them, but I am going to remind you of some important events that you may already know about, but I have not previously mentioned.
For instance, there is a purse bingo fundraiser for the Haley Burk Memorial Foundation that is sponsored by the YMCA Camp Cullen, 460 Cullen Loop in Trinity, on Oct. 5.
The event starts at 5 p.m. and tickets cost $35 for each player, or you can buy a table that seats eight for $300. A taco bar is happening, and door prizes will be abundant. For more information, call Shane Pringle at (936) 662-8180 for tickets and donations.
• First Methodist Church of Trinity’s Fall Celebration that is to be held next Tuesday has a special speaker for the evening. Her name is Betty Carswell Webb.
Webb is a local songwriter, author of “Overshadowed by Jesus,” and a motivational speaker who will speak after a light meal prepared by the Women’s Ministry from the church at 6 p.m.
Also on the agenda is gospel music to be performed by the McConnell’s in the Fellowship Hall for your entertainment. The Church is located at 131 North Elm Street. For more information call Laura at (936) 594-3826.
• I am going to give you a heads up on some TISD Football dates as you will want to attend some of these dates such as Homecoming and Senior Night games.
Sept. 13, open
Oct. 11, bye
Oct. 10, Homecoming
Nov. 1, Senior Night
Don’t forget other sports need your support. We have girls’ volleyball and cross country races going on now at both Trinity Middle School and High School.
See you at the games.
