Chamber changes for Coldspring benefit

Special to the News-Times

COLDSPRING — Recent changes that have taken place on the Coldspring Chamber of Commerce Board of directors will keep the agency working on behalf of the San Jacinto County business community, as well as county residents.

While several board members have had to step down for various reasons, vacant positions have been filled and the members are looking to the future.

The current Board of directors is:

•Jennifer Hoff, president

•Calandra Johnson, vice president

•Christian Mallett, treasurer

•Jocelyn Traylor, director

•Manette Farber, director

Phil Herrington, director

•LaNora Purvis, director

•Mark Mears, director

•Jon Burns, director

•Chris Lee, director

•Savanah Steffey, director

•Dianne Griffith, City of Coldspring (non-voting)

Collectively, the new board is working diligently at shifting the course of the Coldspring Chamber in a promising direction. Together, they are keeping focus and priorities on doing what is best for our members and community.

The board is focused on developing a stronger foundation for our organization to grow on while providing more opportunities to bring recognition to our members, more than we have ever done before.

A key factor in making all of this happen is the continued support of the community.

Executive director Jamie Currie has been working to link arms with other chambers to gain more understanding of what is needed for success — networking, developing strategies and plans for growth and Chamber operations.
