Tip leads to arrest for drugs, firearms

A tip that an occupant at the Economy Inn in Livingston allegedly possessed firearms and methamphetamine resulted in an investigation by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Patrol and Narcotics Divisions and the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigation Division on July 30.

Investigators obtained a search warrant for the premises and discovered Fred William Robinson III in possession of more than four grams, but less than 200 grams, of methamphetamine. He was also in possession of two firearms. A convicted felon, Robinson was subsequently charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, as well as possession of a controlled substance.

A second occupant of the room, Ericka Woodruff, was identified in connection with the case although she was not present at the scene when detectives arrived. Arrest warrants have been issued for her and law enforcement is actively seeking her location and cooperation.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to addressing illegal drug activity and ensuring public safety, with this case underscoring the ongoing efforts to combat drug and firearm offenses in the community.
