TPW awards scholarships

The Tyler County Chapter of the Texas Business Women had their annual banquet and scholarship presentation on June 4 at the Black Creek Ranch in Warren.

TPW is delighted to announce that the organization was able to give out $8,500 in scholarships to eight young women in four of the county’s school districts.

Additionally, TPW was able to present a $1,000 donation to the Dogwood Festival Committee. The primary fundraiser for our scholarship fund is the Dogwood vendors. Traditionally, the Dogwood Committee has allowed TPW to manage the for-profit vendors located at Citizens State Bank and the Motor Bank.

Through the efforts of TPW President and Vendor Chair, Lori Benthall, the vendors have grown in numbers and diversity and through that effort, raised more than $10,000 this year. This money is an investment in the future of Tyler County – our youth, and we are so very proud of them all. Our 2023/2024 scholarship recipients are: Warren ISD – Emma Jeansonne, Roxanne Spurlock, Elyn Meredith and Elli Broxton. From Woodville ISD – Kamryn Grammer and Zelia Williams. From Chester ISD – Kinsley Barnes and from Spurger ISD: Sara Shepherd.
