A budget workshop is on the agenda for the next meeting of the Polk County Commissioners Court at 10 a.m. Tuesday. During the workshop, the Court will discuss fiscal year 2025 budget development; justice of the peace data; proposed salaries, expenses and allowances of elected officials for fiscal year 2025; fiscal year 2025 capital purchase projections; revisions to the fiscal year 2025 permit fee schedule; action related to hotel/motel tax distribution; and the utilization of unclaimed capital credits. An agreement with Langford Community Management Services to update the Polk County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan, to be funded by General Land Office Contract # 22-130-033-E029, will be considered for approval.
The Court will discuss and consider action regarding a request from the Texas Department of Transportation for a special use project for the bridge replacement on Sunflower Road/County Road 1077 over Big Sandy Creek in Precinct 4.
Action related to Bid #2024-20 to require and add electrical outlets in the server room will be considered.
Three Polk County representatives will be designated to serve on the Deep East Texas Council of Governments Board of Directors.
The Court will consider approval, approval upon conditions met, or rejection of the Shores of Lake Livingston Subdivision located in Precinct 1.
A request from the sheriff ’s office for an interlocal cooperation agreement with Walker County for the housing of Polk County inmates will be considered for approval.

In personnel matters, the Court will review and consider personnel action form requests submitted by department heads since the last meeting, review any authorized emergency hirings and consider approval of a personnel management system update.
