•The Annual Summer conference for the ROTC church will be held July 20 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Trinity Community Center. Prayer in the Park is held each summer to provide music, free school items, food, door prizes and spiritual aspiration to the community of Trinity.

This event is sponsored by many churches in our city and county, and for more information, contact Ka-ren Dixon at (936) 581-6531.

•With the flooding and storms Trinity and surrounding counties have endured for the past two months, I have been asked to provide information for our fellow citizens to seek help from the following.

FEMA has a temporary location with a station set up at 101 West Jefferson Street on the right down from the old red schoolhouse. The number to call for assistance is (202) 247-6972.

The North Carolina Baptist Men Disaster Relief Team is housed at Dorcas Wills Memorial Baptist Church in downtown Trinity by the blue building. Please call (936) 594-3822 for assistance. This organization is phenomenal. They are here for six weeks to mud out homes.

The days and weeks go by fast when you are my age, but it’s still fun to participate in all the food events. I don’t have to cook.
