TRINITY — “The Beast of Trinity, Texas” arrived in town Saturday, dropping by to not only for introductions but to give a little love to the Veterans of Foreign Wars post.

The production will feature the county prominently, includes many Texas actors and will begin filming in October.

The director, Dr. Trevor Guerra, said the event helped get the vision of the film out to the public while it raised funds for the VFW through the sale of merchandise and auctions, which included two spots as extras in a movie scene.

During the event, a scan was done of Josh Thigpen, who will play the beast, and sent off to create the mask of the creature. Producer Terry Weaver said the face of the beast won’t be revealed until the movie is released.

The crowd also was treated to cast introductions, autograph signing and a preview of the film.

The production company is looking for extras and shooting locations; to sign up, go to thebeastoftrinitytexas.com.
