TRINITY —Trinity Fire & Rescue rescued four adults from a sinking boat on Thursday.
Fire Chief Keith Johnson said that at approximately 8:30 p.m. Thursday, rescue personnel were sent to the site of the sinking craft on the Trinity River across from Trinity Cove.
Trinity Fire launched their rescue boat at Freedom Shores boat ramp and started searching, but were unable to locate the boat in the river.
Johnson said the firefighters expanded the search and eventually located the boat resting on the river bottom in about 3 feet of water with 4 wet and cold people.
All subjects were transported to a boat ramp and checked by Ventura EMS, but no one was transported, Johnson said.
Trinity Fire would like to remind everyone that is not familiar with the lake and river routes to not be out after dark as the river markers are no longer reliable.
