TRINITY — Tigers got a taste of after-school options on Wednesday during the 2024 Blue Collar Tour.

The tour started Jan. 15 with a plan of visiting more than 30 high schools and trade schools across the country to showcase the trades as an alternative to the traditional college routes.

The stop in Trinity High included THS welding teacher, Kara Gobert.

The welding demonstrations are meant to expose students to more advanced techniques allowing them to develop new skills or build upon existing ones.

The founder and CEO of Western Welding Academy, Tyler Sasse, is passionate about the value of this event for the students.

“We talk about the importance of the trades and what they mean for our economy and our overall country and how important it is for them to go into a trade and really consider that versus college,” Sasse said.

America needs builders and doers, and this tour is just one of the many ways to build a better generation, he said.
