GROVETON — The Groveton Volunteer Fire Department battled a blaze that broke out in a shop and barn on Sunday morning.
Fire Chief Glenn Hammond said the department was dispatched a little after 6 a.m. to an address on North Main Street in Groveton.
When firefighters arrived, the buildings were fully involved, and the VFD requested assistance from Trinity Fire & Rescue, which brought a tanker to provide a water supply.
Hammond said it took about 3 hours to bring the fire under control, and that everything inside was a total loss.
The cause of the blaze is unknown at this time, he said.
