Leann MonkMCALLEN, TX – Tyler County Treasurer Leann Monk was recently elected to serve as the second vice president for the statewide County Treasurer’s Association of Texas (CTAT).

Monk was sworn into office on Sept. 20 at an event at the Quinta Mazatlan in McAllen. The term of service is a one-year appointment for 2023-24.

According to a news release from CTAT, this year’s theme for the organization is “Embrace the Journey,” and Monk is a leader who strives to maintain success and “make[s] sure her team has every opportunity and chance to achieve what is expected.”

Monk has served on the CTAT board as treasurer last year. She said of her new position with the CTAT board, “As the second vice president of CTAT, I am following in the footsteps of previous treasurers who have set the bar high.”

She added that the leadership skills required, as well as those she will obtain throughout her tenure on the CTAT executive board are “priceless.”

“I look forward to serving my peers and doing my part to further the success of our associaton,” she said.
