The Eagles 6-man squad lost to High Island 69-44 on Friday.
Providing the bulk of the offense were Dakota Campbell, who was 17-of-33 for 221 yards passing and 4 TDs. He also rushed 3 times for 23 yards; and Hunter Davis, who rushed 4 times for 20 yards and one TD while catching 4 passes for 43 yards and 2 TDs.
Other top receivers were Zeth Dugat, who pulled in 5 catches for 79 yds and one TD; and Ryan Phillips, who caught 6 passes and added 1 TD.
Dugat had five kick returns for 227 yards and 2 TDs.
Leading tacklers were Bradyn Kaufman with 7 and Ethan Randell 6.
The Eagles host Tyler at 7 p.m. on Friday.
Groveton
Groveton lost to Franklin 14-7 in the battle of the Indians on Friday.
Quarterback Tanner Steubing completed 5-of-13 for 88 yards
Receiving those passes were Billy Thomas with 2 catches for 42 yards, Jackson Cathey with 1 catch for 40 yards, Bryon Thomas with 1 catch for 1 yard and Gunner Wilson with 1 catch for 5 yards.
On the ground, Bryon Thomas had 18 carries for 142 yards, Jackson Cathey had 1 carry for 3 yards, Wyatt Snead had 3 carries for 4 yards, and Steubing had 8 carries for 25 yards.
On defense, Tristan Ard had 8 tackles; Darius McQueen had 7 tackles, 1 interception, 1 defensive TD; Daiton Chandler had 6 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 1 pass broken up; Phoenix Bowman had 4 tackles; Steubing had 3 tackles 1 fumble recovery ; Snead had 3 tackles; Logan Townsend had 2 tackles, 1 tackle for loss; Thomas had 2 tackles 1 pass broken up; Cathey had 2 tackles; Brody Thornton had 2 tackles; Carter Cox had 1 tackle, 1 sack; Gunner Wilson had 1 tackle, 1 tackle for loss; Jarrett Loftin had 1 tackle, 1 tackle for loss, 1 pass broken up; and Armando Bautista had 1 tackle.
Trinity
The Tigers traveled to Hardin Friday looking for their first win of the season but fell short.
The team played a solid first half of defense, giving up an opening drive touchdown and a last second touchdown to the Hornets just before halftime. The Tigers were able to force 2 fumbles that were recovered by the defense.
However, the Tiger offense was never able to get on track and headed into the locker room with a 14-0 deficit.
The third quarter saw the defense hold the Hornets to no points, but a bad snap on a punt attempt by the Tigers in their own end zone gave a 2-point safety to the Hornets.
By the fourth quarter, the Hornets were seemingly scoring at will against a tired defense. The Tigers lone score came from a 70-yard touchdown run by Jammale Johnson, and with the 2-point run, the Tigers ended the game with a 36-8 loss.
Coach Shawn Stout told the team after, they need to keep working and not to give up on themselves.
The Tigers will be on the road again this week as they travel to West Sabine for a battle of the Tigers. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
