GROVETON — As of Monday, Lady Indian Paislie Voelker is ranked No. 18 in Texas for total number of serving aces according to MaxPreps, and 32nd in the nation.
The Lady Indians also had a mostly successful week on the court, downing Crockett 3-0 but falling to Richards 3-1.
In the Friday game, the scores were 19-25, 23-25, 25-15 and 16-25.
Top players were Kiki Smith with 9 kills, 2 blocks, 19 digs; Daisia Leonard with 1 kill, 3 aces, 4 blocks, 5 digs; Aubrey Alexander with 3 kills, 1 ace, 9 digs, 8 assists; Jannett Bautista with 5 kills, 2 digs; Caila Antley with 2 kills, 6 digs; Paislie Voelker with 1 kill, 4 aces, 14 digs, 10 assists; Landree Martin with 3 aces, 9 digs; Kady Lee with 2 blocks, 1 dig; and Stormie Hensley with 16 digs.
In the Sept. 5 3-0 sweep of Crockett, the scores were 25-14, 25-14 and 25-22.

The Lady Tigers were swept by Tarkington on Friday in the opening district match.
Scores were 25-11, 25-14 and 25-15.
Apple Springs
The Lady Eagles fell to Burkeville 3-0 on Sept. 5.
Scores in the match were 25-6, 25-12 and 25-6.
Head Coach Michael Powell said the team played hard but fell short.
