GROVETON — The Lady Indians ended the week with a 3-2 win over rival New Waverly.

The scores were 25-18, 25-20, 14-25, 24-26 and 15-11.

Top players for Groveton were Kiki smith with 1 ace, 11 kill, 15 digs; Emma Alexander with 3 kills, 8 digs, 1 block ; Landree Martin with 11 digs; Daisia Leonard with 1 kill, 2 blocks , 1 dig; Stormie Hensley with 2 aces, 2 kills, 20 digs; Kady Lee with 4 kills, 2 blocks; Aubrey Alexander with 1 ace, 5 kills, 3 assists, 6 digs; Jannett Bautista with 3 kills, 1 dig; Caila Antley with 1 kill, 1 dig, 1 block; and Paislie Voelker with 5 aces, 8 assists, 10 digs.

On Aug. 29, Garrison defeated Groveton 3-1.

The scores were 25-27, 25-23, 9-25 and 15-25.

Trinity

The Lady Tigers evened out their record at 5 with 4 wins in the last week.

On Aug. 29, Trinity downed Goodrich 3-1, and beat Apple Spring 3-0 on Friday. During the Groveton JV/Freshman tourney, Trinity defeated Calvert 2-0 on Wednesday and Goodrich again 2-0 on Saturday.

Apple Springs

The Lady Eagle went 0-2 on the week, falling 3-0 (4-25, 1-25, 2-25) to Richards on Aug. 29, and 3-0 to Trinity on Friday.
