One injured in 2-car crash

TRINITY COUNTY — The Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers investigated a crash on Farm-to-Market Road 356, approximately 1 mile northwest of White Rock Acres Road, that occurred Aug. 1.

The preliminary investigation indicates that at approximately 4 p.m., a 2005 Toyota Corolla was stopped on the northwest shoulder of the road, while a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling northwest.

Reports indicate that the driver of the Toyota made an unsafe U-turn in front of the Chevrolet and was struck on its driver side.

The driver of the Toyota, identified as 25-year-old Jamie Castle of Livingston, was transported to HCA Conroe for treatment. Castle was cited for making an unsafe turn.

The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 30-year-old Justin Alford of Bryan, was not injured.
