GOOD. Water stained; 85 degrees; 0.11 feet above pool. Fishing patterns remain similar. Crappie are good on brush piles 15-20 feet deep on brush piles or downed timber using minnows or jigs. Catfish are good 10-20 feet deep on baited holes with cheese bait. Sand bass good with slabs or trolling deep diving crankbaits on main lake points. Caddo
GOOD. Water stained; 85 degrees; 0.78 feet above pool. Fishing is steady with schools of bass on trees and pads. In the river have Texas rig worms or deep diving crankbaits handy. Use flukes, Texas rigs and wacky rig senkos on trees, but keep that frog, buzzbait or pop r ready around the pads and grass flats. The lake level is holding steady and there is a good current due to recent rainfall. It is always a blessing to come see a majestic lake that God spoke into existence, so come visit Caddo. Conroe
GOOD. Water stained; 88 degrees; 0.29 feet below pool. Catfish continue to be good on baited ledges and near structures. Lots of smaller fish mixed in with the decent ones. Liver, catfish Bubblegum, punch bait and worms have been catching plenty. Report by Brad Doyle, Bradley’s Guide Service. Bass fishing has been fair, with the bite improving later in the mornings. Anglers have found success targeting structure at depths of 16-22 feet using Carolina rigs and drop shot rigs. Slow sinking lures such as Senkos or whacky worms have been effective around pond dams, rocks, and rock piles. Opting for darker colors like junebug, pumpkinseed, and red/black has yielded the best results. The bite has been less aggressive lately, so crankbaits have not been as productive. Trolling with a pet spoon and a diver, has had some success, as well as, thumping and jigging using MT Pockets slabs jigging them. The crappie bite has slowed as the Texas heat increases. You will need to hit several spots to get the hotties, thumps have been lighter. Lone Star Crappie Jigs and Stunna jigs have been producing, as well as minnows, this past week, finding them in 14-24 feet of water on or close to structures. Fork
GOOD. Water Stained; 90 degrees; 0.57 feet below pool. Bass are good early in the morning on topwaters around grass. Chatterbaits are picking up a bit on windy banks early. Offshore bite is still best with Carolina rigged big worms in 18-20 feet of water. Deep chartreuse and blue crankbaits are fair in 23 feet of water near points and drop offs. Lots and lots of crappie stacked up on timber, brush and lay downs in 18-28 feet. The white crappie are suspended in the upper part of the timber and the black crappie on the bottom of the timber. Lots of white crappie on brush piles and lots of black crappie on lay downs. Minnows are the dominant summer time bait but small hand tied jigs swam over structure or pulled slowly away from the crappie will still work right now. Houston County
GOOD. Water clear; 88 degrees; 0.33 feet below pool. Largemouth bass are good in 6-14 feet of water near docks, the dam and offshore brush using shaky heads, square bill crankbaits, Carolina rigs, and deep diving crankbaits. Lake O' the Pines
GOOD. Water stained; 86 degrees; 1.05 feet above pool. Crappie are fair on brush piles in 15-20 feet of water with minnows or jigs. Livingston
GOOD. Stained; 85 degrees; 0.27 feet below pool. The bite continues to be good despite the heat. White bass are excellent with daily limits still possible while the fish are in a midsummer transition with schools moving quickly. Fish are still on humps and points on the mid to south end of the lake jigging with �¾ ounce slabs, one ounce slabs in deeper water, off the bottom near the island white and chartreuse. Martin Creek
FAIR. Water slightly stained; 96 degrees; 0.79 feet below pool. Bass are fair along hydrilla using weightless senkos early in the day, then fishing the outside edge of the hydrilla or points and drops-offs in 10-20 feet of water with Texas rigged worms later in the day. Crappie are scattered more than usual, but finding smaller clusters suspended from 15-20 feet in deeper water around brush or standing timber. Minnows and shad colored jigs seem to work well. Catfish are slow, but catches can be had drifting with nightcrawlers in 15-20 feet of water.
Nacogdoches
GOOD. Water clear; 86-89 degrees; 0.87 feet below pool. Largemouth bass are good shallow on grass edges or along creek channels early in the morning. Topwaters in the morning hours is still a good technique. Lots of fish are schooling and chasing bait in open water. Crappie fishing has slowed some. Black crappie are grouped up well on timber. Naconiche
GOOD. Water lightly stained; 90 degrees. Bass are good early morning on topwaters and frogs. Offshore schools of suspended fish can be caught with shad style lures. Raven
GOOD. Water clear; 87 degrees; 0.00 feet full pool. Summer fishing patterns are holding steady. Crappie are fair around the fishing piers on minnows. Catfish are fair on cut and prepared baits. Bass can be found schooling around shad balls, occasionally blowing up through them. A chrome rattletrap pulled through the shad school is good for a limit in no time.
Sam Rayburn
GOOD. Water clear; 88 degrees; 1.24 feet below pool. Fish are staying near older wood where the PH is lower. Some bass and white bass can be found schooling. Bass are good with topwaters in the pencil grass and hydrilla. Bigger bass are on points and humps biting crankbaits and Carolina rigs. Crappie are stacking up on brush in 16-22 feet of water with bluegill mixed in biting on minnows or jigs. Catfish are good in 22-25 feet of water on brush and around creeks. Toledo Bend
GOOD. Water stained; 85-89 degrees; 1.26 feet below pool. The water level is 170.5 with both generators running 6 hours a day. Water temperature at the Dam is 85 degrees. North of the three-mile Pendleton Bridge, temperatures have been running 85-89 degrees. Crappie are still being caught in 12-20 feet of water depending on cloud cover and generating schedule. Some days it is minnows and sometimes it is a jig. Best times to catch bass this week has been using topwater poppers, chuggers, spooks and frogs over vegetation early and late. Another Bass pattern is a flutter spoon 7-10 inches over humps and ledges. During the heat of the day Bass are being caught in 20-25 feet over ledges with deep diving crank baits. Texas and Carolina rigs have been producing in the outer swings of the creek bends. Best colors in 7-10 inch worms are watermelon candy red, June bug red and Red Shad. The night Bass bite has been coming on strong with Texas ridged 10-12" worms in all black, black with a red glitter, and black with a blue tail. Another great summer nighttime bass bait is a spinnerbait in all black with a single spin Colorado blade �¾-1 ounce, cadence slow off points. White bass have been producing on a Black/Blue back 1/2-ounce rattle trap, a jig-n-spoon in �½-3/4 ounce, and a medium diving crankbait. Kayakers are catching blue and channel catfish shallow with the spawn going on in 1-6 foot of water with a floating cork and split shot from 3-12 pounds in the shallow flats close to deep water. Best baits this week have been punch baits, squid, finger mullet, and shrimp. Remember, it is always better to play it safe by telling a loved one or friend the area you will be fishing, how many people are in your party and the expected return time. FAIR. Water stained; 86 degrees; 0.20 feet above pool. Fishing patterns are holding steady. Bass are fair using trick worms or spinnerbaits early in the morning. Crappie are fair in 16 feet of water on brush piles preferring minnows. Catfish are fair all over the lake with nightcrawlers and stink baits. Bluegill are fair on red worms all over the lake.
