New officers elected by league members

COLDSPRING -- The Women’s League of San Jacinto County will meet May 8, at the Coldspring Community Center. Members and their guests should arrive at the center between 11:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. Lunch ($15 per person) will be served at noon. The luncheon is the last league meeting of 2007-2008. During the meeting, members will fi nalize several pieces of business from the year. First, they will choose the community organizations and efforts they wish to support with the money their fundraising efforts produced this year. Second, offi cers for the coming year will be installed. The 2008-2009 offi cers are:

• Barbara Moore, president

• Vada Syphrett, 1st vicepresident

• 2nd Vice-President Committee: Arnette Daugherty, Martha Burditt, Karen Holten, and Nancy Ellis

• Betsy Johns, secretary

• Dale Martin, treasurer

Members of the community are invited to attend the meeting and/or join the Women’s League of San Jacinto County. Membership dues are $15 per year. For more information call Barbara Moore at 653-8815.
