San Jacinto News Times - December 2007
CLEVELAND – The City of Cleveland has committed to a development agreement with Liberty Motorsports Park for a planned racing facility to be located west of Cleveland on FM 105.
Under the agreement, the City of Cleveland plans to provide about $27 million in assistance for the project. The agreement was signed Thursday, Nov. 15 at the Cleveland Civic Center.
Some events are expected to bring in as many as 80,000 spectators with an annual impact of $50 million to $100 million once it is built.
The park is expected to host AMA ProRacing and Grand Am Rolex Series events as well as outdoor concerts and festivals.
In addition to a race track, the 819-acre master-planned facility will feature condominiums and an exclusive neighborhood of upscale homes and villas overlooking the complex. The facility also will serve as a motorsports country club that will be able to serve 300 members.
Construction is expected to begin within the next six weeks.
