Death investigated
San Jacinto News- Times - January 2010
COLDSPRING – San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a residence in Shepherd Monday, Jan. 11, to find a 17-year-old female deceased. “The young female had two previous heart surgeries and the death at this time appears to be of natural causes,” said San Jacinto County Sheriff James Walters. The case is still under investigation and an autopsy is pending, Walters said. In another case, about 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Department Dispatch received a 911 call from Ralph Simon, of Houston, who was apparently lost in the woods of San Jacinto County. Simon had been hunting in the woods off FM 1725 and became lost. San Jacinto County Game Warden Corley was able to find his approximate location using the GPS signal from his cell phone. San Jacinto County Deputies, Bear Creek Volunteer Fire Department and Texas Game Warden Aryn Corley began to search for Simon, according to Walters. Simon was located around 5:30 p.m. without any injuries.
