COLDSPRING -- The City of Coldspring Beautifi cation Project Committee is conducting a “Welcome to Coldspring Art Show.” The art show is in conjunction with the Go Texan Rural Community Beautifi cation Grant Program, under the Texas Department of Agriculture. Coldspring applied for a $9,200 Beautifi cation Grant Project and has received notifi cation of the award. Local artists, young or old, professional or beginners are being sought to submit artwork that can be used for highway welcome signs and decorative fl ags in the city. The artwork should depict assets the rural community has to offer. Attractions include the nature of our community, the lake, forests and the historical charm of the area. The art for the project will be on display at the Coldspring Arts and Antique Festival on Saturday, Sept. 13.
The art work will be chosen by a panel for the Coldspring Beautifi cation Project Committee, along with participation of the community on the day of the show. The winner will be announced mid-afternoon.
