Property to be auctioned Tuesday for back taxes

COLDSPRING – About 33 parcels of land will be auctioned to the highest bidder Tuesday, Aug. 5, on the San Jacinto County Courthouse steps. The delinquent property tax sale will begin at 10 a.m. and represents land located throughout San Jacinto County with judgments, interest, penalties and costs against it. Tax sale purchasers are responsible for determining any liabilities or claims that may exist against the property, such as property owner association liens. The property may be redeemed by persons having an interest in it within six months of the date the purchaser’s deed was recorded, or within two years of the date the purchaser’s deed was recorded and upon payment of the amount bid for the property by the purchaser at the sale, including the amount of the tax due, recording fee and all taxes, penalties and interest and costs paid plus 25 percent of the aggregate total.
