CASA volunteers needed
CASA of Walker, San Jacinto, & Trinity counties is in need of volunteers! The purpose of CASA is to train volunteers to serve as advocates for the neglected, abused, and abandoned children who are placed in the foster care system. We are looking for ordinary people wanting to volunteer their time to be a voice in court for the children who need it the most. There are currently 12 children without special advocates, and they need you! In order to become a CASA advocate, applicants must submit an application, pass a background check, and attend a 30-hour pre-service training class, which will begin on May 20, 2017. The application deadline to attend this class is Friday, May 12. Children are waiting for someone to be their voice. Contact the CASA office to find out more about becoming an advocate.
