Cigarette Litter Prevention Program launched in Groveton

Groveton News - July 2008

GROVETON-The Board of Directors of Keep Trinity County Beautiful (KTCB), an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, Inc., is proud to announce that it adopted the National Cigarette Litter Prevention Program for local use.
Keep America Beautiful’s Cigarette Litter Prevention Program was developed after identifying cigarette litter as the most littered items found in cleanups around the Country.  Results from thirteen studies completed around the country confirmed the program will be a success in any size community. KTCB became a Keep America Beautiful Affiliate in 2005, and enjoys the ongoing support of the City of Groveton and its residents as well as the leadership of Trinity County.
The City of Groveton Cigarette Litter Prevention Program was launched on Wednesday, July 9th when Mayor Troy Jones installed the first ash receptacle in front of the City Hall. Ash receptacles will be installed throughout town and local businesses will be distributing free pocket ashtrays to adult smokers.
