Public's help needed in death investigation

LIVINGSTON -- Over a year ago, in October 2016, Kevin Wayne Webb walked away from his home in the Indian Springs Subdivision and his body was subsequently discovered off FM 1276. The Polk County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in gathering information about the incident. According to the investigation, Webb was reported to have been seen walking around in the subdivision a few hours after last being seen at his home. His remains were discovered in a wooded area off FM 1276 on Oct.18, 2016. An autopsy was performed on the remains by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences and a Forensic Anthropologist. Detectives with the Polk County Sheriff's Office have been obtaining and following up on leads since that date. At this time detectives have no reason to show foul play was involved in Webb's death. The Polk County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division is requesting anyone with information or knowledge concerning the disappearance of Kevin Wayne Webb in October 2016 to contact Lt. Craig Finegan at 936-329-9028 or Polk County Crime Stoppers at 936-327-STOP (7867) where they do not have to give their name.
