Chase ends in arrest

A chase that led Houston County Sheriff's Office deputies from Lovelady to Trinity on Thursday, Jan. 24 ended with the arrest of Mark Wayne

Wheeler, 38, of Huntsville, and Praion A. Williams, 30, of Houston.

According to reports, when deputies attempted to make contact with the suspects about 9:30 p.m., the duo fled south on Hwy. 19 in the late model Chevrolet they were driving.

The 15-mile pursuit that be-
gan in Houston County ended in Trinity.

Assisting HCSO was Trinity County Sheriff's Office, Trinity Police Department and
Texas Department of Public Safety  troopers.

Authorities said the suspects stopped just before DPS troopers laid spikes across the road.

Wheeler was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, a felony and
Williams was charged with evading arrest or detention with a motor vehicle, also a felony.
