MADD to present program
Houston County Courier - January 2008
Latexo Independent School District and Mothers Against Drunk Drivers (MADD) have teamed up to present an informative program to students in the secondary schools throughout the county.
According to LISD Superintendent Dr. Roy Tucker, MADD only offers approximately 15 regional presentations of this caliber per year.
The program will be presented at the Crockett Civic Center on Tuesday, Jan. 29. The presentation will begin at 9 a.m. and should conclude about 10:15 a.m.
Dr. Tucker said the presentation will include special screens, audio and video equipment that are best viewed in a larger setting.
Representatives from both the regional and national MADD offices will attend.
A regional Texas Department of Public Safety trooper from the Brazos County area who specializes in presentations of alcohol awareness will also attend.
"This presentation is designed to help educate students on making wise choices in life concerning the effects and possible consequences of alcohol," Tucker said.
Local school districts are encouraged to contact LISD at 544-5664 for additional information.
