Located halfway between Livingston and Lufkin on US 59, Corrigan, Texas and the surrounding area is best known for its lush timber tracts that make up a portion of International Paper, one of the largest private landowners in the United States. International Paper manages over 10 million acres of forestlands worldwide and is the owner of the world's shortest railroad, The Moscow, Camden and San Augustine.

The MC & SA Railroad, located in Corrigan's sister town Camden is not all that is commonly shared. Corrigan also shares with Camden an independent school district which has been singled out as one of Texas' finest. The Corrigan Times covers happenings all the way to Lufkin.
