The 2017 U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools rankings were recently scheduled for release, and according to the reputable national magazine, Woodville ISD has been named one of the best high schools in the nation for 2017. The criteria included schoolspecific data on enrollment, college readiness, student ethnicity, location, school type, and results of state assessments and Advanced Placement tests. U.S. News published detailed information on more than 22,000 public high schools, and more than 6,000 schools, barely one-fourth of the schools that U.S. News evaluated were awarded gold, silver or bronze medals in this year's rankings. U.S. News offers trademarked Gold, Silver, and Bronze 2017 Best High Schools badges to eligible schools, and Woodville was awarded with a bronze badge from this national evaluation. In addition to the national rankings, 2017 Best High Schools includes new rankings of the top schools in each state, as well as the Best STEM Schools, Best Charter Schools and Best Magnet Schools.
