Heritage Village to host 'An Evening With Clyde Gray'

Tyler County Booster

The public is invited to a onetime Art Event held in the Clyde Gray House at Heritage Village in Woodville, Thursday, February 23, from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wine and hors d'oeuvres will be served throughout the evening. There will be an Art Exhibit of many pieces of Clyde Gray's tile work and other art forms, some owned by the Village and others on loan from the public. Clyde Gray was the founder of Heritage Village, and this is the first public event to be held in his house since the Village acquired it last year. The Gray House is a piece of art in itself with the kitchen walls being a breathtaking tile mural done by Clyde Gray when he lived there. One of the bathrooms is full of cartoon tiles, a look back at when Gray was a cartoonist in his early years. In addition to the Art Exhibit, there will be a talk on Clyde Gray and his tile technique and a reading of a unique little book that Clyde and his wife, Bill, wrote. Tickets for this one-time event are $25 per person and are available at the Village or Sullivan's Hardware. Space is limited to 60, so get your ticket as soon as possible. For more information, please call Heritage Village at (409) 283-2272.
