Texas A&M University Singing Cadets to Perform
Tyler County Booster - January 2010
Internationally known as the “Voice of Aggieland”, the Texas A&M Singing Cadets will be performing in Woodville on Monday, January 11, 2010 at 7:00 PM at the Woodville High School Summit Auditorium. Now in their 107th touring season, they are one of the oldest collegiate singing organizations in the world. They have toured both in America and abroad and have earned recognition by doing so, including invitations to sing for American presidents. They recently sang for President George H. W. Bush on his 85th birthday in Kennebunkport, Maine. The Singing Cadets, who have gained world renown as Texas A&M’s male chorus, date back to 1893. The group performs more than any other collegiate choir, presenting more than 870 concerts each year. Recent tours have been to Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and The White House, all in addition to the numerous concerts for Aggie Mothers Clubs and Texas A&M alumni clubs throughout the state and nation. COMPASS (Community Performing Arts Series at the Summit) is sponsoring the Singing Cadets in Woodville. Tickets for the performance on Monday, January 11 may be purchased at the door or in advance at WISD Administration, Sullivan’s Hardware, Heritage Village or the Art League. Prices are $15.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. COMPASS Patrons may use their season tickets for this performance.
